Coat & Comb – Dog Grooming Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Coat & Comb! By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Business Information

1.1 Business Name: Coat & Comb

2. Appointments

2.1 Booking: Appointments can be booked via our website, phone, or social media.

2.2 Deposits: A £25 deposit is required at the time of booking. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable unless cancellation is made with more than 48 hours’ notice.

2.3 Cancellations:

- More than 48 hours’ notice: deposit is transferable.

- Less than 48 hours’ notice or no-show: deposit is forfeited.

2.4 Late arrivals: Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in the appointment being shortened or cancelled, and the deposit retained.

2.5 Pick-ups: Dogs must be collected at the agreed time. Late pick-ups may incur an additional charge.

3. Health & Safety

3.1 Vaccinations: All dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations. Proof may be requested.

3.2 Health conditions: Please inform us of any health or behavioural issues before the groom (including lumps, bumps, skin issues, or aggression).

3.3 Behaviour: Aggressive or severely unmanageable dogs may be refused service. A handling surcharge may apply.

3.4 Emergencies: In the event of a medical emergency, we will contact you immediately. If you cannot be reached, we may seek veterinary treatment at your expense.

4. Grooming Process

4.1 Consent: By leaving your dog with us, you consent to the grooming process and any necessary adjustments for safety and comfort.

4.2 Matted coats: Severe matting may require shaving for the dog’s welfare. This may expose pre-existing skin issues and may incur additional fees. We will always discuss this with you first if possible.

4.3 Accidents: While every precaution is taken, minor nicks, scratches, or irritation may occasionally occur. You will be informed immediately if this happens.

5. Pricing & Payment

5.1 Starting prices: All prices shown are starting prices only. The final cost depends on your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, and behaviour.

5.2 Payment: Payment is due in full at the time of collection (cash, card, or bank transfer).

5.3 Additional fees: Charges may apply for excessive matting, fleas, or difficult behaviour. If fleas are found, your dog may be sent home and a cleaning fee applied.

6. Liability

6.1 Coat & Comb is not liable for pre-existing conditions or any irritation caused by grooming tools or products.

6.2 Owners are liable for any injury their dog causes to the groomer.

6.3 Coat & Comb is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items left with your dog.

6.4 In the unlikely event that an injury occurs during the grooming process as a direct result of Coat & Comb’s actions, we will cover the cost of necessary veterinary treatment under our insurance. This does not apply to conditions that are pre-existing, arise naturally after grooming, or are not directly caused by the grooming process.

7. Photography

7.1 We love to share our grooms on social media. Consent for photography will always be requested in your check-in form when registering for a groom. You can opt out at any time.

8. Complaints

8.1 If you are unhappy with any part of your dog’s groom, please notify us within 48 hours so we can resolve the issue.

9. Governing Law

Scottish courts.

9.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by Scottish law. Any disputes will be resolved in the Scottish Courts.
